Loneliness is not fun

Lately, I have heard that loneliness is a disease that causes people to be depressed, angry, and many other mental issues, sometimes leading to suicide. I am not surprised . There a lot of people that choose to be isolated, but for the most part I think that there are those that would rather get a telephone call or a gesture of kindness that makes them feel wanted. I used to be one of those who felt lonely, because no one would call me just to see how I was or to invite me to dinner. I have changed that loneliness into a positive. I have chosen to reach out to people, to call or text them just to see how they were doing. I no longer feel lonely, because I take the time to let people know I care about them. The Lord Jesus Christ is my constant companion so I am never lonely. Maybe it is time that we let people who are lonely know that they are of value and worthy of a phone call. Let me leave you with a statement from the book A Search For Significance by Robert McGee, " I am greatly worthy apart from my performance, becaiuse the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, imparting value to me. I am greatly loved, fully pleasing , totally accepted and complete in Christ."
